Job Description:

Piper Sandler & Co., New York, NY seeks Investment Banking Associates - Collaborating with senior team members on sell-side M&A and capital raising advisory projects within the asset and wealth management sector. Developing comprehensive financial models to analyze investment opportunities and assess potential risks utilizing Excel financial modeling skills including comprehensive DCF, LBO, M&A, and waterfall modeling. Conducting complex valuation analysis and preparing detailed reports on company prospects, including fairness opinions for public company sales. Performing in-depth industry and company-specific research to provide valuable insights for investment strategies and client recommendations to include use of PowerPoint to prepare marketing materials, pitch books, and client deliverables. Preparing investment memorandums and engaging with investors to support capital raising efforts. Collaborating with senior team members in executing transaction processes, including due diligence, documentation, and negotiation and interacting with clients to assist senior team members in managing commercial relationships with strategic and financial investors, potentially sourcing new engagements. Interacting directly with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders in the Asset and Wealth Management sector to understand their needs, provide updates on project progress, and address any inquiries or concerns throughout the deal execution period. Expanding the business franchise within the Asset and Wealth Management sector through development of new client relations and interacting with institutional investors by providing up-to-date insights on industry trends, regulatory developments, and market conditions relevant to the industry. Using following softwares to analyze financials and deliver client materials: FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg, BamSec, Macabacus, and PitchBook.

Requires Bachelor’s (or foreign educ. equiv.) Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting and three (3) yrs. experience in Job Offered or related. Experience must have included Working in at least one of the following focus areas: investment banking, private equity, or asset management; at least 3 years of experience in the asset management and wealth management sectors; Deal-closing experience in M&A and complex debt capitalization projects; Use of Excel financial modeling skills including comprehensive DCF, LBO, M&A, and waterfall modeling; Use of PowerPoint to prepare marketing materials, pitch books, and client deliverables; Use of the following software: FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg, BamSec, Macabacus, and PitchBook; Valuation analysis and preparing detailed reports on company prospects, including fairness opinions for public company sales; and Client interaction to assist senior team members in managing commercial relationships with strategic and financial investors, potentially sourcing new engagements. $125,000-$200,000/yr.
